TECHNOLOGIES FOR RELIABLE AUTONOMOUS CONTROL (TRAC) OF UAVs

چکیده
Technologies for Reliable Autonomous Control (TRAC) is a DARPA sponsored effort under the Software Enabled Control (SEC) initiative. The goal of T U C is to develop and demonstrate a fundamentally different approach to controlling uninhabited air vehicles (UAVs) that will enable greater mission capability, higher reliability and safety, and greater adaptability to vehicle and mission environment variability.

The TRAC Mission Manager Autonomous Control Executive 1
Present autonomy technologies do not compensate for a vehicle's structural, perceptual and control limitations through reflexive responses and rapid adaptation as a pilot typically does. For Uninhabited Air Vehicles (UAV's) to have more general application the mishap rates must be much reduced. Therefore the vehicle control systems must be capable of rigorously analyzing and predicting in real-...

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are becoming more reliable, autonomous and easier to use with great potential for commercial use in common airspace in the near future. Though autonomous UAVs often do not rely on communication links with the ground during flight, communication is necessary and essential in accomplishing complex mission tasks where the ground operator is an essential part of the ...
متن کاملAn Open Control Platform for Reconfigurable, Distributed, Hierarchical Control Systems
Complex control systems for autonomous vehicles require integrating new control algorithms with a variety of different component technologies and resources. These components are often supported on different types of hardware platforms and operating systems and often must interact in a distributed environment (e.g., in communication with a groundstation, mothership, or other UAVs in a swarm). At...
متن کاملTopology Control and Mobility Strategy for UAV Ad-hoc Networks: A Survey
Advances in electronics and software are allowing the rapid development of small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), capable of performing autonomous coordinated actions. Developments in the area of lithium polymer batteries and carbon fiber-reinforce plastic materials let UAVs become an aerial platform, that can be equipped with a variety of sensors such as cameras. Furthermore, it is also possib...
